NEWSLETTER 14/03/16
1916 – 2016:
Schools all over Ireland will hold flag raising ceremonies tomorrow (Tuesday). We will hold our ceremony at 12 noon and the wider school community is invited to attend.
1st PENANCE:
Congratulations to the children from 2nd class who received their first penance last Tuesday night. We were very proud of them and thanks to Ms. Farrell and Mrs. Hurley for all their work in preparing the children for the sacrament. Thanks also to Mrs. Browne, Margaret Brennan and the children from the choir who turned out in great numbers to support 2nd Class.
Refreshments were provided after the ceremony by our Parents Association and we are very grateful to the people who gave their time to make the occasion special for the children and their families.
SKIPPING:
The workshop held on Thursday was a great success. It is wonderful to see so many children skipping at play time.
St. ABBAN’S QUIZ:
Great news! The team of Lorcan Page (6th), Conor Loughman (6th),Jesse McEvoy (5th) and Cian Dunne (5th) won the Fr. Kennedy Cup at the final held in Killeen last Thursday night. The winning score of 68 out of 70 questions was the highest team score in a final since the competition began in 1971. Well done lads!
