ZIM DAY:
Thanks to everyone for their generosity last Friday for Zim Day. Ms. Cotter reports that there was €1,900 raised which is a wonderful achievement. Special thanks to the ‘bakers’ for all their hard work. Check our website for photos! www.ballylinannationalschool.com.

GREEN SCHOOLS:
Our ‘Green Schools’ committee visited Srowland Water Treatment Plant outside Athy yesterday and saw how much work is required to provide drinking water to our homes. Our new school has a water harvesting system providing water for our 30 toilets! This has reduced the
amount of water we use dramatically compared
to the old school.

MID-TERM:
Reminder that mid-term break will be Thursday and Friday – (Feb. 20th & 21st).

SCHOOL CALENDARS:
Due to an error at the printing stage we now have a surplus of calendars. These are available for €5 each at the school office, Centra and Murphy’s pub.

COMMUNITY NOTICE:
Ballylinan GAA Club will be introducing their new Handball Wall on Thursday 13th February @ 7 pm. with a demonstration from Laois coaches. All children
and parents are welcome to attend and be part of this
new chapter in the club.

MASS FOR GRANDPARENTS: Thanks to everyone involved in the first Mass to be celebrated at our new school last Wednesday. Special thanks to Paddy Ryan for looking after the car parking.

CONFIRMATION MASS: Saturday February 8th @ 7 pm. in St. Anne’s Church.

PANTO DVD: Dvd’s are now ready to order (€10 for 1 night or 2 nights €15). Please pay when ordering.

ZIM DAY: Our annual fund raiser takes place this Friday, February 7th. Any unwanted toys/books/games in good condition would be very welcome or items suitable for a raffle. People have been wonderful in the past for providing cakes and buns on the day, so we are asking again!!
On the day there is great value to be had so children only need a small amount of money.

GREEN SCHOOLS: The committee will visit a water treatment plant outside Athy next Monday as part of their work for our next “Green Flag”.

FOOTBALL COACHING: Ballylinan Juvenile G.A.A. are hoping to provide football coaching at the school for boys and girls for a number of Fridays during Spring, but need to assess the level of interest. The sessions will run from
3.15 – 4.15 for children form 1st – 5th classes. If interested please complete the slip below and return to the school by Friday February 7th.

PARENTS ASSOCIATION NEWS:
