Newsletter 2nd October 2019

Opening Hours
The school opens to receive pupils each day at 9:15 a.m. No responsibility is accepted by the Board of Management for pupils arriving before 9 a.m. Classes end each day at 3 p.m. (2 p.m. for Junior & Senior Infants). If a child is finishing at that time and being collected, parents should make their own arrangements for this and the person collecting them should be at the school not later than 3 p.m. (2 p.m. for Infants). The Board cannot accept responsibility for the children after that time. On the rare occasion where the person collecting has been unavoidably delayed, please let us know. Thank you for your cooperation and for your patience with regard to parking at the school.

Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine
Táimid ag déanamh iarracht níos mó Gaeilge a úsáid i rith an lae. We’re trying to use a little more Irish during the school day. Rinne na páistí sár-iarracht an bhliain seo chaite. The children made a great effort last year and we are continuing our efforts this year. Bainigí triail as!

Book Bills / Rental
Book rental/school contribution fees are now overdue. Please pay immediately or contact the school to make payment arrangements. We will be contacting you in the coming weeks re. any outstanding payments. Thank you.

Change of Address?
If your contact details have changed recently, please contact the school immediately. Thank you.

Lost Property?
We have lots of it! Please come and have a look in the front porch. Now is a good time to check that your child’s name is on their property.

Young Athletes
Well done to our young athletes who ran this week at the Carlow cross-country event. It was the first time many of them ran competitively and they did themselves proud. Thank you to Ms. Kiernan and all those who helped to organise. Swimming is ongoing for Room 10 and other classes will get their turn during the year. Rugby and basketball coaching are ongoing with football and hurling coaching also taking place during the year. A big thanks to our coaches and all those who help out.

Voluntary Envelope Collection
This important envelope collection is our main means of fundraising and allows us to provide better facilities, equipment and services for your children. From this week onwards the envelopes will be sent home everyweekwith the oldest child in each family. We really appreciate your support and ask you to consider making a small contribution weekly. The money adds up and is put to very good use, providing extra opportunities for our children. Your contribution is voluntary and confidential and you will be issued with a receipt at the end of the year.
